International Connectivity |
|
|
In this particular area, the unavailability, the very high cost and unpredictability of activation times of crucial international connectivity services can be an untenable risk and cost for SMEs internationalization projects. Moreover, in addition to their low quality, connectivity services and telephony are often the second item of expenditure for advanced tertiary companies.
Established SMEs will have access to international communication services (voice, data) of high quality, variety and at relatively very low prices. To ensure these objectives, the Park at first and a Park Consortium afterwards will sign up the following contracts for infrastructure construction and management services:
- With 2-3 international connectivity providers ("global carriers") for guaranteed delivery of data connections of various levels of quality (bandwidth, round trip time, uptime, gitter, packet loss), protocols and geographical destinations (point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, point-to-cloud). The redundancy will be guaranteed by the number of suppliers and from the use of physically separate transmission techniques (fiber, radio or laser bridges, satellite). The agreement will include local routing services for the Park international telephone traffic.
- Through a network planning company ("network planner"), possibly from abroad, for planning and construction of local telematics and telephony infrastructures of high quality, cheap and independent from specific service providers. Negotiations are already taking place, in Italy and India, with industry leaders, such as Network Solutions and STPI.
- With an enterprise telecommunication services provider ("telecom provider") for the customization, delivery and administrative management of a wide variety of services to established businesses. The contract will be renewed at maturity of 2 years.
By aggregating the demand, therefore, the Consortium will be able to offer its members international communication services (voice, data) of great variety and at international stock prices. Companies shall then finally seek, establish and extend numerous and intense relationships with their foreign offices, partners and international (but also national) chains and especially with similarly equipped centers in emerging countries.
The companies that should have a need for proprietary services or should need to comply with particular corporate standards will be able to keep part of their connectivity with traditional telecommunications providers.
