So far, these are the partners that have signed detailed MOUs for their participation in OMC and/or participation to initiative centered on open standard, open source technologies in the video sector to be located in the Telematics Park:
World-leading developer of a free/open source software video platform for collaborative editing, hypersindication, crowdsourcing and monetization over IP, in use by over 60.000 publishers and producers worldwide, which powers Wikipedia video portal. Role: Co-investment in software technologies and co-management. Project: Will develop cloud-based free/open-source rich-media and video production workflow management software to power resources of the Cluster, such as the Universal Audiovisual Archive, and a collaborative media editing platform for fiberLAN and Internet access. Status: Signed LOU on June 23, 2011.
World's primary video and audio technical educational institution, with the largest number of schools in the world, in 56 cities in 24 countries. Holds Qantm and Studio301, world leader in audio post production for film, and with high skills in Neve equipment. Role: Training and provision of services, infrastructures and dedicated spaces. Project: Will manage a 1.500 sq.m training center in the park, offering master and Higher Education courses, centered on cultural and cross-media content creation, custom interfaces design and cross-media authoring. Will settle a 500 sq.m post-production studio for movies. Status: Signed MOU on May 24, 2010.
World's leading training institute for game design, cross-media, online gaming and Internet-native thematic channels, part of SAE Group. Already settled in nine cities and three continents. Role: Teaching and training. Project: Will settle in the Park its third European branch, after Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Zurich and London, which will also be able to host foreign students, thanks to all-inclusive packages. Status: Signed MOU on May 24, 2009.
World leading company for ICT strategic and integration services, with its New Product Development and Innovation division, and in particular Accenture Video Solutions, provides global end-to-end broadband and hybrid solutions for broadcasters and media rights holders. Role: Co-investment and operations management. Project: Will co-invest in research and development activities in the Park as a “partner user”, will play an important role in Cluster operations management, focusing on Open Innovation, and will consider the convenience of locating offices and laboratories in the Park/Cluster. Status: Signed MOU on April 21, 2011.
Currently, two departments of University of Rome “La Sapienza” (DIS and FSC) and CATTID have signed partnership agreements with the Park, which will be extended and complemented by participation of other foreign leading academic and research institutions.
Role: Teaching and training, laboratories settlement. Project: Will hold master and intensive courses in open-standard and free/open source rich-media technologies, centered around extensive labs, and will provide specialized training for the Open Media Institute. Status: Signed MOU on February, 2009
Leading university department for theorie, languages format and models of emerging media. Role: Teaching, research and experimentation. Project: Will hold master courses on cross-media authoring updates, and will research and experiment innovative technologies and multimedia languages. Status: Signed MOU (only available in italian language) on May 10, 2010.
CATTID (Center for Television and E-Learning technologies applications) is a research center located in the University of Rome “La Sapienza” focusing on technological innovation, drawing on the expertise gained from scientific departments and faculties. Role: Teaching and research. Project: Will hold master and intensive courses in open-standard and free/open source rich-media technologies, user experience, usability testing, centered around extensive labs provided by the Cluster, and later settle a Logos laboratory, connected to the GARR network. Status: Signed MOU (only available in italian language) on May 10, 2010.
Lazio Region's center of enterprise creation and innovation support to start-ups. As of today operates a network of 7 business incubators present throughout the Lazio territory varying between 1,000 and 3,500 sq.m. Role: Business incubation. Project: Will manage a new BIC Lazio incubator on an area of 1.000-1.500 sq.m, dedicated to start-ups focused on innovative technologies for production and distribution of audiovisual material, unencumbered by patents and based on free/open source software. Status: Signed MOU (only available in italian language) on January 20, 2010.
Cagliari (IT) based private incubator for start-ups, dedicated to developing innovative ICT and New Media businesses, founded by Mario Mariani, former CEO of Tiscali 2006-2008. Role: Business incubation. Project: Will settle in the Park a New Media and ICT focused business incubator. Status: Signed MOU (only available in italian language) on December 23, 2009. In addition, agreements are under discussion with several companies and world's leading special effects festivals, and in the past we have received formal letters of interests from Etabeta, NUCT, Filmhouse Srl. and other international leaders, for a total of 8.063 sq.m of activities in our service and retail center.
